Great Wine Tasting Yesterday!

Thorny Rose Wines - 2011 Chardonnay

Columbia Winery - 2010 Merlot

We had a nice turnout at Thursday's Wine Tasting!

We're proud to say that 2 local Washington wines dominated the event. Columbia Winery's 2010 Merlot and Thorny Rose Wines' 2011 Chardonnay were the consistent favorites out of 6 total wines featured; including a California '09 Merlot, '10 Pinot Noir, another '11 Chardonnay from CA and a sparkling Italian Prosecco.

Thorny Rose Wines is based in Prosser, WA.

Columbia Winery is Sunnyside/Richland based.

At $4.99 & $5.99 respectively, you can't touch Grocery Outlet's current price point on these wines anywhere else!

May Wine Tasting This Thursday!

 Join us this Thursday, May 21, from 4 - 7pm for our monthly wine tasting event!

We do this the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Wine Dept. Sample from a selection of 3 chilled white wines and 3 reds. Sometimes more. And always an assortment of hors-d'oeuvres.

A 10% case lot discount will be in effect during wine tasting as well. This means we'll mark down an additional 10% on purchases of any 12+ bottles from the Wine Dept. Any 12 or more bottles, so mixed cases are totally ok!

Why do we do this on Thursday instead of Friday? Because Thursday is sooner. Just so you know.

March Wine Tasting this Thursday!

Come in this Thursday from 4 - 7:00 and tour our new Wine Cellar!!!

Okay, we don't really have a wine cellar-- BUT, we are wine tasting this Thursday 3/19 in our almost as classy Wine Dept.

Join us for snacks... oh yeah, hors d'oeuvres and samples of a few reds and whites from our current inventory. And the whites will be chilled!

Remember we do this on the 3rd Thursday of every month, so mark your calendars accordingly. Last month was a blast and a great turnout!

 Our first 2015 wine tasting will commence this Thursday (1/22) at 4 PM in our Wine Dept.

We try to do this the 3rd Thursday of each month though tomorrow is actually the 4th Thursday since there are 5 Thursdays this month, the first one being Jan 1 this year.

Ya got that? There's gonna be a pop quiz, so put on your thinking caps! To simplify, we're officially calling this Jan. 22 "the second 3rd Thursday" of the month. This is like one of those astrophysical phenomena that only occur every 867 years-- or whenever we forget to schedule on the right day, whichever comes first. So just stick with us here, okay. And tell or bring your friends too!!!

ANYWAY, above are a few selections we may be featuring. For our sweeter red fans we have a new chocolate infused one as well as Merlot and Zinfandel samples. Whites will include Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio/Gris offerings. You'll just have to see.

Snacks available as always-- including cheese, salami, fruit, nuts, chocolate, etc.

We'll be tasting until 7:00 or maybe longer if enough folks show up.

Coffee Geeks Alert!!! Our latest coffee shipment from Running Pump Roasting is Ethiopia Limu, an Organic/Fair Trade bean. Some of you tried and loved RPR's Sumatra we've had.

Chia Seeds are one of those pricey superfoods we're hearing more about lately. Not so pricey from us though-- and they're still a superfood. Get Chia seeds here for real value! We have 2 brands currently. So compare.

These top shelf Sun Dried Tomatoes are Certified Organic and a must in every serious foodie's kitchen arsenal. If you only knew all the uses for sun dried tomatoes. Check Aisle #4.

A hi-lite from our ever changing Wine Dept. "DITKA" Merlot is a tribute to Mike Ditka, legendary NFL football player & coach of the '85 Super Bowl winning Chicago Bears. Hmm. Seems more like a sausage & beer guy to me, but ya just never know, right. I think we still have some of this. A 5 year old Merlot is ready to go! Great addition to your Super Bowl party that will impress your football friends.
