Produce Section - Fresh Kimchi & Tofu

Fans of Asian foods should know about the Kimchi in our Produce section!

We're stocked up on fresh, refrigerated REAL kimchi in regular and spicy. If you like old fashion homemade fermented sauerkraut, you'll probably like kimchi as well. Basically, it's Korean sauerkraut. Of course, all kimchi is kinda spicy, but there's extra kick stuff too!

Kimchi is an excellent source of pro-biotics and an alternative to relying on yogurt for pro-biotics... just don't wanna put it on your granola though, okay. And get it in the fridge right away, cuz it's under pressure.

We also have Extra-Firm Tofu (next to the kimchi), made with non-GMO soy. This is bonus as most soy these days is genetically modified. Tofu is a high protein, meat alternative. The Japanese have been making tofu for generations, so it's not some new, over-processed industrial frankenfood. Try it!

Quinoa Selection Growing!

 We have a variety of quinoa at the east end of our *NOSH aisle!

Choose between red & white quinoa in a variety of brands. All priced to save you more $$!

Quinoa is a high nutrition seed that you prepare just like rice (2:1 ratio water/quinoa). It has a mild nutty flavor, is a bit chewier texture than rice and contains all the essential amino acids to be a complete protein. So you don't always have to combine it with beans as with rice in order to make a complete protein.

Got all that? 

I just whisk into boiling water, let boil on high for 4 minutes then set heat to low and cover for 25 minutes. And it never mushes out or sticks to the pot like some rice.

Coffee Geeks Alert!!! Our latest coffee shipment from Running Pump Roasting is Ethiopia Limu, an Organic/Fair Trade bean. Some of you tried and loved RPR's Sumatra we've had.

Chia Seeds are one of those pricey superfoods we're hearing more about lately. Not so pricey from us though-- and they're still a superfood. Get Chia seeds here for real value! We have 2 brands currently. So compare.

These top shelf Sun Dried Tomatoes are Certified Organic and a must in every serious foodie's kitchen arsenal. If you only knew all the uses for sun dried tomatoes. Check Aisle #4.

A hi-lite from our ever changing Wine Dept. "DITKA" Merlot is a tribute to Mike Ditka, legendary NFL football player & coach of the '85 Super Bowl winning Chicago Bears. Hmm. Seems more like a sausage & beer guy to me, but ya just never know, right. I think we still have some of this. A 5 year old Merlot is ready to go! Great addition to your Super Bowl party that will impress your football friends.
