The east end of our Produce island features all Organic items including: Potatoes, Onions and Bananas (plus Pears & Apples this week!).

Let's talk about Organic potatoes. We stock Reds, Yukon Golds and Russets in 5 lb. bags.

Tips about Organic potatoes: 

We have discovered that even the freshest organic potatoes sprout very quickly as they are not treated with chemical agents to inhibit or prohibit the growth of sprouts aka 'eyes'.

Potatoes that are soft, moldy or bad smelling are a different story.

But sprouts on organic potatoes are not a bad thing. One way Grocery Outlet saves you money is by not hiring extra staff to sort through bags and pop off potato sprouts every day. You can easily do that at home when washing, preparing and/or peeling them in your kitchen. Easy peazy, right!

Another cool thing is that home gardeners can count on their own bumper potato crop just by planting a few of these lively & healthy organic potatoes! Though we'd rather you just buy them all from us instead ;)))

Healthy Jerky? Sure, kinda!

Here's a browse around the store these days. Just tip of the iceberg, but a few odds and ends caught my attention. Mostly "odds".

The big bags of Boulder potato chips are a great deal 2 bag special! These are Organic, Non-GMO, thick cut kettle-style with sea salt and cracked pepper. What's not to like! Thick and extra crunchy too! I think their name is Boulder because they use boulders to make them. Kinda like "steel cut oats", right? Okay, anyway...

"Indian Pudding" was a mystery to us that I had to check out. Basically it's like canned corn grits or polenta, flavored with real molasses and cinnamon similar to pumpkin pie. Serve cold or warm with cream or ice cream. Now we know about Indian Pudding!

Hemp seeds... That's right. These crunchy-toasty snacks taste similar to sunflower seeds except you can eat the whole thing, so there's no spitting involved. Or grind them into a superfood powder for smoothies. Hemp seeds are very healthy and we promise they won't make you feel funny. Are they as yummy as the Boulder chips? No. They're not.

Next, you'll notice the "Field Trip" jerky packs hanging around our check out areas these days. This beef jerky product is non-additive stuff made from happy cows who got to live in a field or take a trip to one once, hence the name. Available in 3 flavors!

Shop Grocery Outlet For REALLY GOOD POTATO CHIPS!

Potato chip fanatics on a budget will appreciate our deals on chips! Kettle & Tim's Cascade are only 2 examples of fine potato chips on the shelves at Kennewick Grocery Outlet. Kettle is the very first national potato chip brand to go Non-GMO Verified. Pretty cool, huh!

Tim's is an old Pacific NW favorite; known for their serious thick crunch factor! Try eating them in a stairwell sometime for crazy echo effects. Kettle is no slacker in the crunch dept either.

Try this:

Crunch up some Kettle BBQ style chips, and coat them on boneless/skinless chicken breasts that you've first dipped in some egg batter. Place on a sprayed or non-stick cookie sheet, and bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Healthy flavors don't have to be boring! And this is as quick & easy as it gets. And a LOT better for you than a red & white bucket of deep fried chew bones. A much better value all around!
